About
Good mental health contributes to healthy relationships and vice versa. A happy well fulfilled life is dependent upon good mental health and healthy relationships. And I am passionate about helping people overcome obstacles and barriers so that they may live their lives in the ways they deem most fulfilling. I love working with lots of different people at different points in their lives – blended families, immunocompromised people, families with children and adolescents labeled “severely emotionally disturbed”, those in federal prisons, people dealing with addiction, and more. How I work… In my sessions, I like to collaborate with people to enact therapeutic interventions with realistic goal setting. I am a strong believer that even with a rough start, or the curveballs that life throws at us, we can learn to thrive. And therapy will help us build and strengthen our life foundations. I have worked with people to help them process their emotional trauma, overcome depression, manage stress during crises, tackle financial and vocational anxiety, navigate LGBTQ+ issues, strengthen their family dynamics, overcome parenting struggles, and address teen/adolescent issues. I’ve enjoyed a variety of work settings. Being a therapist has taken me everywhere from rehab facilities to prisons to homes. Connecting with people as they work to make their lives better has truly fed my passion for this work. My Credentials I have completed my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy with a concentration on alcohol and substance abuse from Long Island University. I also hold a BA in Psychology, with a concentration on Children and Youth Studies from CUNY Brooklyn College. I hold a Limited Permit in Marriage and Family Therapy from New York State. When I’m not at work… I enjoy spending time with my niece and nephews, baking and eating, dancing, video games and traveling.
