Hi everyone! My name is Chris Carkhum and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia. I have been a paid professional counselor for several decades. I currently hold three master’s degrees: Master of Science, Clinical Administrative Specialist (1988), Master of Education (2008), and Master of Arts, Forensic Psychology (2014). I am also a doctoral candidate, in Counselor Education and Supervision, scheduled to defend my dissertation during the Spring Semester of 2022. I have also completed and been certified in several clinical areas of practice. Board Certified Telemental Health (2018), Approved Clinical Supervisor, ACS2347 (2016), Certified Clinical Supervisor (2015), Psychological First Aid (2013), Evolution of crisis Response workplace (2013), Individual Crisis Intervention and Peer Support (2013), Group Crisis Intervention (2013(, Certifies Employee Assistance Professional #0045409 (2013), United States Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional (Sap) (20130, National Board Certified Counselor (2008), International Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (#C005) (2009), Certified Master Addiction Counselor (2020), Approved Family Violence Intervention Prevention Group Facilitator (2009), and Prevention Specialist (1993). I have provided effective, outcome based therapy for anxiety, marital counseling, individual counseling, couple counseling, addiction counseling, informed trauma therapy, and US Dept. of Transportation SAP substance abuse evaluations. Additionally, I provide clinical services for those individuals that have experienced sexual, physical and emotional trauma. Finally, I am also a State of Georgia Certified Educator, School Guidance Counselor (K-12). Additional clinical services may be available based upon comprehensive clinical evaluation.
