Personal Statement
I utilize a warm and interactive counseling style and treat everyone the way I would want to be treated – with respect. My approach includes cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, EMDR, rational-emotive behavior, family, and reality approaches. I am eclectic and emphasize an integrated approach to treatment.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), multiculturally trained, and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with more than 10 years’ experience. I have worked in a variety of settings to include private practice, outpatient treatment centers, residential treatment centers, community counseling, foster care, adoption, and telehealth. I have served children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups and have dealt with crisis and trauma, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, partner relational problems, premarital and marital counseling, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, stress management, trauma, and life adjustment issues as well as being a career counselor, among others.
My approach relies on the mutual development of goals for therapy and the provision of ongoing evaluation of the therapeutic process. That is why when you walk through my door and into my care, you can take a deep breath and relax because you have come to the right place. I am confident that you will find unparalleled professional care combined with an individualized touch that you will not easily find elsewhere. I provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental environment-a safe place to explore the issues that may be preventing you from living your best life.
I know that therapy can be life changing and rewarding. Like you, I have benefited from therapy. As a young child and an adolescent, I was emotionally and physically abused. Therapy helped me to reclaim myself and to heal from the abuse. I provide a safe and welcoming environment during and after your healing process and your safety us my number One concern.
