Personal Statement

I have over twenty years of experience as a Mental Health Therapist. I have worked as a trauma expert in Mental Health Centers, Women's Battered Shelter, In-Patient Psychiatric Hospital both with adults and children after graduating at the University of Kansas with a Masters' Degree in Clinical Social. I opened my own private practice in 1995 and have completed many professional workshops as well as completed research on depression, anxiety, and a number of other mental health issues.

I work with parents and children using Theraplay principles, play therapy, music, and art. I realize how difficult it can be when a parent is struggling with their child's behavior and can't find a solution. My goal is to develop or enhance the parent's relationship with their child and bring back structure and fun to their lives. I generally get my referrals from former clients who recommend me to their friends, family, coworkers. I think that is what makes me stand out in the field of Mental Health Counseling.

I am able to connect with my clients and give them a safe place to talk. The fact that I am referred to others by my current clients indicates that I am providing the best treatment possible.
