Personal Statement

I am an Licensed professional counselor. I completed my Bachelor Degree in Psychology at the University of North Georgia and continued to earn a Master of Science degree in Clinical Counseling at Brenau University. I have experience in treating individuals with various needs in family, individual, or group formats.

I believe that everyone has the power to change their lives. I believe that everyone has the right to seek the appropriate help and support needed in order to bring about positive change. I believe that no problem is too big, and no problem is too small. The first step is making the decision that change is desired.

Marissa is bilingual and has used her language skills to help translate English to Spanish. She focuses on the LGBTQ community and multiracial issues. Marissa Herrera was a community support team lead, working with individuals in the community who had severe and persistent mental illnesses.
