Personal Statement
Kelly earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Augusta State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Currently, Kelly works with clients ages 16-60 years of age addressing concerns related to depression, anxiety, anger, relationship concerns and trauma. Kelly has worked extensively with individuals recovering from traumatic brain injures, strokes, and other major medical concerns. Her goal is to help clients recognize the degree of control they have in troubling situations and learn appropriate coping mechanisms.
A typical therapy session will primarily focus on addressing the client's goals for therapy and utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) skills to identify problematic thoughts and/or behaviors that may be contributing to the problem. Relaxation therapy and other mindfulness techniques may also be used to help manage anxiety responses in stressful situations.
Kelly has worked in both inpatient and outpatient therapeutic settings. She thoroughly enjoys working with clients to help motivate change and celebrate success.
