Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Alex Kohl and I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology and am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment so that my clients feel safe, respected, and heard. I am skilled in client-centered, systemic, and emotion-focused therapies, and often incorporate other orientations to meet the specific needs of my clients. Whether you are experiencing general life difficulties or want to work on specific issues, I hope I can be a part of the solution and help you to achieve your goals in therapy.

My primary areas of expertise are addiction, depression, and anxiety; however, I have experience working with a wide variety of populations, such as psychiatric and neurological disorders. Equally important as experience is developing a strong and trusting relationship with my clients. My goal is to understand your world and help you to achieve your goals.

In addition to my experience as a psychotherapist, I have also received extensive training in Clinical Neuropsychology and have a Master's degree in Behavioral and Neural Sciences. I frequently incorporate advanced biofeedback technology in my sessions to help my clients reduce stress and achieve a calm state of mind.
