About

Virginia C. Hogan, Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi, I am Virginia and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Webster University. I have over 18 years of experience in the behavioral health field where I have spent 14 years in the correctional system providing mental health services in the Dept. of Corrections. I have also worked in community behavioral health providing mental health treatment to out- patients as well as the area’s Drug/Accountability Court program. I have experience with many different diagnoses and mental health issues/life problems including individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar and other mood disorders. I also have experience working with adults with relationship/family conflict and individuals who have experienced trauma. I have extensive experience with co-occurring and substance abuse disorders, addiction and co-dependency using individual and group therapy. I am also the spouse of a retired Army veteran and have an understanding of the unique pressures and stress military life has on families. I have experience working with most age groups but prefer working with adults (18 and over). My passion is helping others to navigate the stress, anxiety and depression that today’s world is throwing your way. I have a laid-back, non-judgmental approach that enables you to be yourself and feel comfortable while on your journey to healing and self-discovery. My theoretical orientation is eclectic, which means that I use what will work for you, not for everybody else. Reaching out is the first step, let’s talk and see if I can help you be your best.
