Hello, I'm Nan and I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in affective (mood) and related disorders. I graduated with my MSW from University of Mo-Columbia in 2007. I am experienced in adult/young adult individual therapy and group psychoeducation.
I am fairly informal and use an eclectic approach that incorporates components of cognitive behavioral and dialectical therapies as well as motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and guided imagery. I am solution focused and will tap into my clients' strengths to help empower them to be their best selves. I reject labels and firmly believe that the person you are and are meant to be is determined by what is in your heart and mind, and NOT by your skin color, country of origin, or other superficial traits.
I strive to provide a warm and compassionate space for exploring the reasons for maladaptive thoughts and behaviors and the development of healthier coping skills.
