Hello, my name is Mindy Swanson. I have lived in Georgia for the last 39 years. I am the mother of a quick witted 9 year old little girl and A sassy redhead four month old little girl as well as numerous pets. I have been fully licensed with the state of Georgia since 2013. Prior to becoming fully licensed, I have worked in a variety of settings including group homes, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, community agencies, and nonprofits. I have an extensive background working with trauma through all walks of life. I have worked with veterans, sexual assault survivors, as well as children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families affected by both physical and sexual abuse, and traumatic events that have reshaped their future. I use an Integrative approach to help the individual learn ways to heal the whole person. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which is a great framework for working with depression and anxiety disorders. I am also certified in Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I am a laid back, client -centered therapist who does her best to meet you where you are at, and keep humor as a necessary part of our treatment. Laughing can sometimes be the best medicine. I love to see people grow into their full potential, and be able to look back and say that was just an obstacle in my journey in this thing called life. In order for an individual to begin to grow and find their strength, they must have a sturdy foundation to build upon. I strive to help individuals begin repairing the cracks from the past that trauma has caused in turn making the object even more beautiful than it was before.
