About

My name is Dr. Gail P. Wise and I have lived in New Orleans, La. most of my life. I have three degrees of higher learning in the field of Social Work culminating with a doctorate degree conferred in 2015. I have been in private practice for 33 years providing several modalities of treatment for children, youth and families. By engaging in the work alliance with my clients, I hope to create an environment of trust and support empowering clients to work toward their stated goals expressed in treatment.

I have experience in several practices with more preference for Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for survivors of incest and sexual trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focus Therapy, Trauma Focus CBT and Mindfulness.

I have worked with persons who were interested in resolving issues related to Stress/
Anxiety, Family conflict/ Parenting issues, Domestic Violence/ Interpersonal
Relationship issues, compassion fatigue, Aging/ Geriatric Issues and Caregivers Stress

Additional work experience in the following areas:
Foster care /adoption, child abuse and neglect, emotional. maltreatment, abandonment and attachment, career counseling/coaching, blended families (polyamory, step-parenting and LBGTQ parents), and sexual abuse/incest.
