Welcome to Find A Therapist. My name is Aliza and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who resides in the sunshine state of Florida. :) Originally from the Midwest, I moved to Florida for college and spent eight years higher education (specifically enrollment management) prior to entering the mental health field. Since then, I have merged my love of mental health and education as I currently oversee the counseling office at a private PK2-12 school. I have a strong passion for assisting those in recovery from addiction as I have worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings supporting brave individuals who struggle with co-occurring disorders (addiction and mental health issues). I love facilitating group sessions and am trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization & reprocessing). I have worked in a church setting and can provide a spiritually supportive approach if that is important to you. I practice a client-centered approach as I seek to understand presenting issues and utilize modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, solution-focused therapy and positive psychology. I love to support clients in meeting their life goals by starting with today. I believe being understood and processing experience supports overall mental health and wellbeing and assists you to love yourself and those around you well.
