Personal Statement
I specialize in treating trauma and acute stress in adults. Trauma comes in many varieties. Trauma can result from experiencing a life threatening experience, or from witnessing a life threatening experience of another person. Trauma can also result from experiencing chronic helplessness or chronic feelings of powerlessness. Trauma can be treated successfully whether the situations occurred recently or a very long time ago.
I am trained in EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, which is the most effective treatment for any kind of trauma or acute stress. However, it has multiple other applications as well. I also use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
I also have extensive experience assisting clients with substance abuse or addiction. I have monitored many health care professionals to assist them in getting their license to practice reinstated.
Are you struggling self-confidence? Feeling anxious or depressed? Having difficulty coping with a life transition; relationship strain, or loss of a loved one? Want to get to know yourself better? Not happy with the way things are going? Not sure what to do? Do you need a safe place to talk about what's going on in your life? Need some practical solutions? My goal is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental environment so that I can assist you in getting back on track, or defining new roads altogether.
