Personal Statement

My name is Tessa Magill, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Ojai and Ventura, Ca. I work with individuals who are experiencing stress, are in a life transition or are struggling to manage their current set of challenges. I offer a comfortable and calm atmosphere as the foundation to helping my clients feel heard, understood and empowered.

I see a variety of clients through Maple Counseling Center in our Ojai and Ventura offices. These clients include insurance and cash pay individuals, couples and families. My work in this setting focuses on issues from adjustment to depression, anxiety/panic to communication, trauma to impulse-control, and social connections to self-care. Each client I work with has a unique opportunity for transformation as we collaboratively uncover the helpful and unhelpful strategies they are currently using that are causing them to feel unhappy or stuck. Through my down-to-earth therapeutic approach my clients uncover personal insights and functional strategies to apply in their lives for lasting change.

I specialize in teens, anxiety, trauma, mindfulness and nature-based therapy.
