Personal Statement

Terry Karmel is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) who specializes in counseling individuals, couples and families through challenging situations impacting their lives. My therapy style, built on respect and trust, helps clients explore their issues through open and honest communication. I have successful outcomes with clients facing life’s challenges in all kinds of families.

Examples include: newly established relationships that can benefit from pre-marital or pre-cohabitating guidance; graceful uncoupling of relationships; post-divorce and blending new families; same-sex partnerships and the LGBTQ community; or those dealing with anxiety, depression or grief. I establish a safe, non-judgemental environment in which clients can freely share their most intimate details, and feel confident that they’ll be heard. My collaborative approach guides clients toward a more positive solution.
