Personal Statement
Shandi Michael is a licensed clinical mental health counselor. She is highly skilled in the assessment and treatment of adults struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Shandi is trained and experienced in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and Ego-State Therapy. Her collaborative approach to healing builds upon client strengths.
Shandi has been treating clients with mental health difficulties for more than 11 years. She began her career at the Utah State Hospital as a psychiatric technician. Shandi has a variety of treatment experiences ranging from her work at a group home for adolescent boys healing from substance misuse, to treating clients at a community mental health clinic, to working in private practice. She approaches each individual with respect and sensitivity. She strives to bring peace and healing to each client with whom she has the opportunity to work.
When she is not working, Shandi enjoys spending time in the mountains with her family, exploring ghost towns, and spoiling her Goldendoodles.
