Personal Statement
When is the last time you felt like you could completely be yourself? How often have you really felt like someone understood you? You know that pressure you feel all day every day to be “on” – at your job and in your relationships? Well, you can breathe easy: there is no pressure here. Our therapy sessions will be a confidential and safe place where you can come as you are and a place where you will be heard and understood. In session I am supportive, curious, and genuine. I will hold space for you to experience your thoughts and emotions and work to appropriately challenge you at times as well.
I take an approach that incorporates aspects of humanistic, cognitive, existential, and psychodynamic counseling. That means I can help you transform the way you understand and relate to your thoughts, beliefs, emotions and behaviors. I believe that by increasing awareness of ourselves and our patterns we have the power to change the patterns that either aren’t working anymore or maybe never have worked. I help my clients achieve greater mental well-being, decreased symptoms of anxiety or depression, greater confidence, and a sense of ease and control in their lives.
Before I became a therapist, I worked in the corporate world for 15 years in positions in the banking and finance, software, and corporate real estate sectors so I understand what it means to have a highly demanding job and how that can impact mental health. In addition and, as a result, I also have a deep understanding of and a no-nonsense approach to discretion and confidentiality in everything I do.
