Personal Statement

As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

I have been providing mental health treatment to clients of all ages for almost 20 years. I have worked in several different areas: criminal justice, welfare/foster care, community mental health and private practice. My personal goal with every client I work with is to identify in them their strengths-focus in on ways to make them stronger and more self empowered. Buying into change is the only way a person is going to improve.

My career focus has been mostly on behavioral and addiction issues. I feel my job is to help the client identify and become self motivated to make some of the necessary changes to get their lives back on the right track. Also to encourage the client to see that change is what will make a difference in their life. The benefits of counseling will hopefully make the necessary changes with not much effort.
