Personal Statement

I provide therapy for individuals, couples, and families who are seeking guidance and support during a challenging time. My approach is collaborative and solution oriented. In cooperation with you and significant other(s), I work toward creating solutions for the problems presented, utilizing and building upon resources and strengths. In many instances, by the time you first come to my office, you have already begun resolving some of your problems. In the first sessions, I work closely with you in developing specific goals that are reviewed for progress periodically throughout therapy. Your active participation in constructing solutions to your problems is the key to effectively utilizing psychotherapy.

Having an extensive background in schools and treatment centers, I am particularly skilled in working with children and adolescents. Tailoring my approach to their unique developmental, emotional, and social needs, I quickly develop a working relationship.
