Personal Statement
My approach to psychotherapy is that of a relationships expert focused on assisting individuals, couples and families to reconnect with one another, and experience relations that are sustainable, vibrant and engaged; all the while achieving their own definition of success. I work is with individuals, families and couples who are stuck in vicious cycles that don't seem to work, while using a collaborative, evidence based, powerful and innovative style of therapy.
Nestor Presas is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Supervisor, who has been helping families with parenting, stability, growth and reconciliation for more than 15 years. During this time, Mr. Presas has helped families to resettled into the United States from war torn countries, offered assistance to parents trying to regain custody of their children and worked as an advocate for families trying to eradicate prejudice and stigma against people in emotional turmoil.
A graduate of Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, his practice focuses on the family and approaching emotional pain as intrinsic to growth. People who work with him are not received as patients but as collaborators in a project of personal improvement that strengthens functional solutions, without claiming inadequateness or weaknesses on their part. Mr. Presas, offers only solutions which may be described as respectful, empathic and genuine by the participants. His goal is to increase the person’s sense of hope, expectancy and self-control.
