Personal Statement
Michael Mesmer, MFT, has over 30 years of practice using alternative and traditional approaches to support groups, families, couples, adults, and children. He has particular training and experience helping people manage anger and anxiety, end family violence, heal from trauma, and cope with grief and loss.
As a therapist, I offer a holistic approach when exploring with people the kind of issues that bring them to therapy. This perspective recognizes that work, diet, lifestyle and spiritual practice, as well as thoughts and feelings, can play a role in healing our body, mind and spirit and in building healthy relationships and satisfying lives. Working holistically also helps us to recognize and develop our strengths and resources.
Alternative psychotherapy incorporates all aspects of living, including work, lifestyle and spiritual practice, as well as thoughts and feelings, to help us heal our body, mind and spirit.
Alternative therapies, such as narrative and the expressive arts, meditation, and body-oriented therapy, offer positive, solution-focused assistance to clients for reaching their goals in unique ways.
