Personal Statement
Are you worried about your teen's happiness? Do they seem to be spending more and more time alone? When they do spend time with you, are you tired of the snippy remarks and emotional breakdowns? Therapy can help! I work with anxious teens who struggle with big emotions and low self-esteem.
As a teen girl not that long ago (OK- I may be stretching that *just* a little bit), I remember what it's like. Being a teen is horribly uncomfortable and so very dramatic. It can be difficult to like yourself when your emotions are running wild and you don't know how to communicate or connect with others without being mean. Your friends love and adore you one moment, then ice you out for reasons unbeknownst to you (and sometimes them as well!)
I love helping teens figure out who they are and feel good about loving themselves again. Through individual and group counseling, I can teach the skills they need to hang in there when life feels overwhelming and help them with how to say what they mean in a helpful way.
One of the reasons I love counseling so much is it is one space you can truly let loose without any judgments! I believe everyone has the ability and power to live a life they love- sometimes they just need someone they can be real with while they navigate the ride. I'd be happy to be that person!
