Personal Statement

Laura is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from University of Central Missouri State. She then went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Social Work from Bowie State University. Her professional experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, group, and family counseling.

Laura has worked with many agencies including community mental health, In-Home mental health, foster care, and residential. She has worked extensively with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma as well as adolescents and adults struggling with addiction and works with borderline and antisocial personalities. Laura comes from a Strength’s Based perspective, always focusing on the client’s strengths. Solution Focus, Cognitive Behavioral and Motivational Interviewing as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques are some of the therapeutic approaches Laura uses.

Laura works with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for anxiety, depression, and regulating emotions counseling to parenting support, couples counseling and beyond.
