Personal Statement

Judith Acosta is a clinical social worker, crisis counselor, and classical homeopath with nearly 30 years experience in mental health. Currently she is located in Placitas, between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Starting as a rape crisis counselor in the mid-80’s, she is widely known for the treatment of trauma, anxiety, grief, and fear. She served on site at Ground Zero with NYC Police Department and POPPA support personnel. She is the author of hundreds of articles and several books including The Worst Is Over, which was hailed as the “bible of crisis communication.”

Judith Acosta, LISW, CCH, is the author of The Next Osama, The Worst is Over and Verbal First Aid for Children. She is a licensed psychotherapist, classical homeopath, and crisis counselor in private practice in Placitas, New Mexico. She has trained emergency crews, hospitals, corporations, and schools in the practice of Verbal First Aid™. She specializes in the treatment trauma and lectures around the country.
