Personal Statement

Psychological science has proven that significant portions of our brains and minds are malleable. We are constantly shaped by our life's experiences, and being able to harness that change to your advantage is the mark of a well-adjusted person. My role is to empower you to engage in this process of self-transformation. If you are ready to take the first step, let’s talk. My style of therapy is very much like my personality: open-minded, non-judgemental, compassionate, and direct. I imbue my sessions with a sense of humor, as I believe laughter can be just as cathartic and healing as crying.

My approach is also flexible and depends on the needs of my patients. While my primary orientation is humanistic and person-centered, I rely on psychodynamic, cognitive and behavioral interventions to help facilitate change. I believe in maintaining a comfortable atmosphere for all genders, sexualities, ethnicities, spiritual and political affiliations.

I specialize in adult individuals, couples and adolescents ages 16 years and older. I'm a Gottman Level 2 trained couples therapist, and welcome any referrals for couples therapy. I offer Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for Trauma, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills Training and clinical hypnosis. See my website for more information.

Please note that I am only doing tele-health at this time.
