Personal Statement
I am a licensed clinical social worker and have over ten years of experience working with adults, adolescents, children and families. My work is informed by a deep belief that we are all, inherently, amazingly resilient and just doing the best that we can at any point in time. Sometimes, if your resources are being overtaxed, you may need help to reconnect with the extent of this strength.
I specialize in working with individuals struggling with eating disorders and body image difficulties, but also frequently work with folks managing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, relational problems, and/or a general sense of feeling stuck. My approach is experiential, emotion-focused, and relational. I believe that the symptoms that bring you into therapy are often the very ones that you have most needed at times of struggle.
As we work together, I will ask us to check in and be curious about what you are experiencing in the moment, helping you to bring a compassionate perspective to yourself and your struggles.
