Personal Statement
I believe that mental health care is as important as our medical health care. Just as we go to the doctor for regular check-ups, I feel that our mental health care should be viewed in the same fashion. I enjoy helping adults work through past traumas, anxiety, relationships struggles, and gender and sexuality concerns. Whether it is working through past negative experiences, dealing with current conflicts in the your relationships, or a need to work through internal conflicts of stress, identity concerns, or self-esteem: having a compassionate and empathetic therapist can make the job feel more manageable. We will work together to create goals to help you progress towards the authentic life you would like to be living and goals that support you in overcoming the patterns that are preventing you from living the way that you would like to be living. Online therapy helps overcome some of the barriers that may have gotten in the way of attending therapy previously. You do not need to worry about: parking, transportation, traffic, extra time off beyond the 45 mins to an hour for the appointment, or the worry of seeing people you may know in the waiting room
In addition to believing that taking care of our mental health is paramount to our well-being, I believe it should be affordable. I offer a sliding fee scale through Open Path Collective. I also accept several insurance plans.
I believe in living by the words that I speak. I attend to my own mental and physical well-being to my best effort - best effort is all we can ask of ourselves. I stay involved in causes that are important to me and reflect my values. I am involved in my local Pride center and my local Domestic Violence agency as both causes are close to my heart.
