Personal Statement
I have been intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy through the treatment developer Marsha Linehan’s training institute Behavioral Tech, LLC. Specializing in DBT has allowed me to gain further insight into the commonly experienced “emotion-mind” that lead many of us to engage in behaviors we would otherwise avoid. Many times when we are ruled by persistent thoughts or overwhelming urges, the outcome is usually the result of us having been stuck in a mindset that prevented us from thinking rationally or acting on our better judgment. If you have an Eating Disorder or feel that your relationship with food and how you view your self or body is all-consuming, you most likely have had experiences where you feel powerless over controlling your own behavior. This powerlessness is in part due to being stuck or reinforced into a mindset that “you’ll feel better if... “. DBT and other treatment modalities will help those stuck be able to create movement through their ability to take back what was once lost: self- regulation and objectivity. A healthier view of self and confidence in continued growth is what I hope to provide those seeking change. Let me take this journey with you. Together we can work to create the best version of ourselves.
At Life Worth Living, LTD we have a team of professionals dedicated in helping you achieve your version of what it means to be healthy. We have a dietitian on staff, as well as a child & family therapist and a licensed social worker specializing in trauma and addictions. Our practice prioritizes relationships with other health and wellness providers in the area to assist in creating your individualized treatment plan.
