Personal Statement

I began my journey working in the counseling field by treating children with emotional and behavioral disorders. I discovered my passion helping aging individuals, and their families during my rotations at the VA. I led individual and group therapy sessions in the palliative care unit for patients, caregivers and grieving families. It was a privilege to help veterans by rebuilding family dynamics and overcoming life struggles. I continued my calling of helping seniors by specializing in geriatric mental health.

Many seniors are unable to receive psychotherapy due to health, mobility and cognitive changes. By providing in-home services, seniors are now able to engage in consistent therapy to address the most difficult challenges related to aging. The goal of my practice is to help seniors maintain emotional wellness throughout the lifespan.
