Personal Statement
Hi! I am a self-esteem, ADHD and body image specialist. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and work with teen and adult individuals, age 17 and above. My passion is in helping individuals struggling with negative body image, executive function issues and/or depression, work on building up their self-esteem, learn about their brain, decrease perfectionism and anxiety, and develop healthy relationships. I help clients develop a deeper sense of self-worth, examine old behavior patterns and create new ones.
I want to work collaboratively with you to create a life that is meaningful to you. I will help you explore the ways in which your emotional, mental and physical well-being are interconnected. In addition to talk therapy, I use art, mindfulness, guided breathing and research to facilitate awareness and build coping skills. I am a LGBTQIA affirmative, body supportive therapist & incorporate intuitive eating principles into my work. I have nearly ten years of experience both working and studying in the mental health field. My work experience includes both inpatient and outpatient settings, schools, and non-profit experience.
I came into this work because it helped me turn my life around. Witnessing other clinicians patiently hold onto the hope, dreams, and aliveness that I could not believe in at the time, inspires my work today. There is something incredibly powerful when we are able to connect with others and be accepted exactly as we are in the present. My goal as your therapist is to strengthen and heal the relationship you have with yourself and others. Breaking old behavior patterns and beliefs can be messy, really hard and often takes time. But I believe in my clients, in their story, and their ability to lead a life that feels good to them.
