Personal Statement
Jacqueline believes that people are creative, decision-making beings who seek experiences that enhance their own lifestyles, unique to that individual, and based on one’s own belief systems and values. She views people as socially embedded, goal directed beings who are capable of achieving self-actualization. Jacqueline recognizes each individual as a holistic person by integrating the mind, body, and spirit in the therapeutic process. She also believes that people have the ability to think positively, which yields positive results. Her personal philosophy is that counseling is based on the appreciation for human differences.
Jacqueline graduated from Rider University, NJ with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. Her background includes working with clients on an individual basis and in a group setting. She has worked with individuals struggling with various mental illnesses such as Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Developmental Disabilities, Eating Disorders, Schizoaffective, Post Traumatic Stress, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She uses a Client-Centered approach integrated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapies, and Spirituality.
As a Humanistic, growth-oriented clinician, Jacqueline explores client’s thoughts, feelings, behaviors, relationships, and attitudes, as well as those of influential people in the client’s life. While implementing the therapeutic core conditions of congruence, unconditional positive regard, and accurate empathetic understanding in the therapeutic relationship, she works to assist clients in gaining insight into his/her interpersonal or intrapersonal dynamics about oneself, the world, and others. Her treatment methods help clients gain insight into their lives while fostering awareness and personal growth.
