Personal Statement
We all struggle to navigate challenges in our daily lives from time to time. Being human means there will be times when we have difficulty in our relationships with family, friends, or colleagues, or we regret the way we handled a conflict with a loved one, or we simply feel that our goals and/or desires are out of reach. I work collaboratively with individuals and families to overcome barriers that are negatively impacting you, to create healthier ways to lead a fulfilling life, driven by your goals and values.
While my client base includes individuals in all walks of life, I specialize in counseling adolescents and young adults with anxiety, depression, mood/behavior disorders, family and relationship conflict, and disordered eating. I tailor treatment to each client's unique needs and experiences, in a supportive and empowering environment. With a background as a high school social worker, my therapeutic approach focuses on strength-based, mindfulness, and action-oriented techniques. I draw from a variety of modalities, including, but not limited to: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), & Solution-Focused Therapy.
Beginning therapy can be an exciting, yet scary, decision. It takes strength and courage to seek support, and it's normal to feel apprehensive at first. Realistically, therapy is something we can all benefit from at times, and I aim to make you feel comfortable, supported, and heard throughout your therapeutic journey.
