Personal Statement

My name is Hilary Kohs, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been a mental health therapist since 2003. I received my Bachelor’s in Science degree for Psychology in 1997 from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. I received my Master’s degree in Social Work in 2003 from University of Illinois in Chicago, Jane Addams College of Social Work. I have been working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 17 years helping clients ages 6-96 with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, parenting issues, anger management, bi-polar disorder, and a variety of other mental health issues. Also, working with the VA for the past 10 years has given me vast knowledge and training in helping clients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. My approach is person-centered, which involves authentically and collaboratively working with clients in order to enable change. I provide a safe, non-judgmental, therapeutic environment where clients can increase insight and explore desired change.

As of July 1, I will be available in person at the 350 Houbolt, Joliet location and will continue telehealth as well for continued covid restrictions, distance, or preference. I have evenings and Saturdays available, call for an appointment at 815-374-4578.
