Personal Statement
Heather has been helping individuals and their families overcome a variety of behavioral and mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief, trauma, life adjustment, and anger, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy and play therapy techniques. She has received graduate training and post-graduate experience in the area of psychological testing, has received additional post-graduate training in psychodynamics and depth psychology, has completed the Maternal Mental Health Certificate Training through Postpartum Support International and the 2020 Mom Project, and is involved in national and local efforts to increase awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Heather enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and their families seeking to overcome life’s struggles. Her work also includes a specific focus on psychotherapy for women and maternal mental health. Heather’s approach is collaborative and supportive and she utilizes mindfulness, depth psychology, and cognitive behavioral techniques. She seeks to create a safe atmosphere for self-exploration, self-discovery, increasing awareness, and the development of other necessary skills for managing life’s stressors, which leads to an increased sense of balance, freedom, energy, and overall fulfillment.
