Personal Statement

Thank you for considering me as your therapist. I believe that choosing the right clinician for your personal journey is very important. And, it is a brave decision you have made to come forward to start this personal quest. I believe we are the experts on our own lives and sometimes having a trained professional to help guide us to our own answers is what we need.

With over 25 years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker in community settings, such as hospice and hospitals, I have worked with individuals through life transitions, relationships, grief, depression and anxiety. Some of the evidence based approaches I use include: Rogerian client centered, strengths and empowerment based perspectives, solution focused therapy, psychoeducation, cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mind-body connection concepts, psychocybernetics, emotional freedom therapy, mindfulness and systems theory. The approaches used and your treatment plan is based on a thorough assessment of your needs and is as unique as you are as an individual.

My areas of specialty include working with individuals with complex medical issues and their caregivers; working with college age students, given my 10 years of teaching experience; and working with individuals on self image and performance anxiety.
