Personal Statement
Therapy shouldn't have to be complicated; it's not rocket science. What is most crucial - perhaps even more important than credentials or education - is that you feel comfortable with your therapist. I’m a licensed psychotherapist as well as a certified alcohol and drug counselor. I’ve been in practice for nearly 20 years, working with individuals, couples, and adolescents.
Feeling unhappy in a relationship is awful. Life can feel hopeless when your relationship isn’t firing on all cylinders. And, though I don’t think all relationships are salvageable, I’ve seen that couples can work past most of what’s getting in the way of being happy.
My approach is down-to-earth and practical. What works for one person may not work for another, so I try to work in a way that is most helpful for each client. Therapy is about two people sitting down and talking, and I speak plain English - not “psychobabble.”
