Personal Statement
I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families of any configuration, to solve life problems that feel outside of their ability to solve. My style as a therapist is rather varied, and often inventive. I honor and respect the individuality of each client and family, and I recognize the need for unique solutions for each client.
When working with families, my tendency is to incorporate collaborative and narrative approaches. Both of these approaches rely heavily on your expertise, as we become "co-investigators" in your life situation, examining your problem-dominated stories and rewriting new, preferred ones.
Whether you seek a solution for a personal dilemma, interpersonal conflict, mood or anxiety issues, addictions, recovery from a loss, sexual identity or orientation or other life change, you will always be treated with respect and dignity in my practice. My goal is for you to feel supported, nurtured and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.
