Personal Statement

I have been working in various mental health settings since the late 80s primarily with children and teens and their families. I have my friendly, calm yellow Labrador Retriever in the office with me, who helps people feel welcomed and safe. I also have a strong Christian influence to the mostly cognitive-behavioral work I do.

No doubt you have come looking for answers for yourself or someone close to you. You have also come looking for someone who can help you find those answers. It is my hope that this site will answer your questions about me and what you can expect from therapy.

Therapy is a way to learn about yourself and express your thoughts and feelings, but it also about change. I help people express themselves as well as look at ways to understand and change unhealthy or problematic thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I ask clients to come to therapy with a willingness to try new perspectives and new ways of doing things.
