Personal Statement

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with fifteen years experience working with individuals and families in a variety of settings. I obtained my Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Tennessee in 2006 and earned my undergraduate degree from Marietta College in 1998. I completed training through the MentorCoach Training Program in 2009.

I am honest, down-to-earth, and I endeavor to always create a safe environment for my clients to discuss sensitive topics. My ideal client appreciates my direct approach and honest assessment of the situation, embraces their own ability to affect change, and values faith and God’s hand in their lives.

From our first meeting, I will focus on your reasons and goals in seeking therapy, and help you identify practical and concrete steps towards a solution. You will find me to be practical, empathetic, and easy to talk to.

I am a member of the Social Work Association of Middle Tennessee, and the Rutherford County Psychotherapy Association. I follow the ethics and principals of the NASW Social Work Code of Ethics.

I live in Rutherford County with my husband and two children. I am active in my local church. In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, and camping. I am a firm believer in fresh air and sunshine as positive therapeutic tools and encourage my clients to discover the benefits of nature themselves.
