Personal Statement

A little about myself…I have lived in several different states, including 23 years in Hawaii, and Las Vegas for 11 years! I love to travel and have dogs and cats for my own self-care! I currently live in San Diego, so I see Nevada clients via Zoom. I have worked for DOD Army and Navy for eight years, as well as part-time private practice.

I believe I bring a unique perspective to therapy being both a nurse and a therapist. I work with clients who struggle with all types of depression, anxiety, trauma history, ADHD, marital issues, and life transitions (new parents, retirement, serious medical illness). I have a special interest in couples therapy and working with active-duty military and veterans.

My treatment style is relaxed and open, acknowledging that you as the client come with goals for therapy. Some of the modalities I utilize; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Gottman Therapy principles, Motivational Interviewing, Family-Systems and Person-Centered therapies.

It can feel scary to take the first step in admitting you need help with personal issues, and whether you will find “the right therapist”.
