Personal Statement

Dr. Stephen Oreski is a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of trauma. He works with individuals, couples, and families dealing with the most challenging of situations. With over twenty years of experience, Dr. Oreski has a passion for helping his clients transform the challenges and pain of their lives into stepping stones for their awareness and growth. He has a collaborative approach to psychotherapy. His, good-humor and open-mindedness creates a safe therapeutic atmosphere where clients feel comfortable to explore, understand, and move past their presenting problems.

Dr. Stephen Oreski has extensive experience counseling those with anxiety, depression, addicaiton and a variety other challenge in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He specializes in working with male survivors of sexual violence and childhood abuse. Along with empathy, compassion, and cutting-edge techniques, Dr. Oreski utilizes his skills to work with each client to achieve their goals and live a productive, happy, and more fulfilling life.

His professional background includes leadership in social movements, policy, advocacy, and community organization. As the Program Development Coordinator for the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NJCASA), he collaborated with other state and local program professionals and government agencies to plan and develop statewide policy and program initiatives, coordinated training with the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, and implemented standard best practices and facilitated service provision for all New Jersey county-based Sexual Violence programs and Rutgers University.
