Personal Statement
I am a Christian Counselor, but I will work with people of all faiths. I take a cognitive approach to counseling. I believe that the goal of counseling is to uncover the cognitive beliefs that are directing our behaviors and feelings.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor by the State of Texas. My undergraduate work is in Family Studies and Child Development. My graduate work is in the areas of counseling psychology and Educational Psychology. I am currently teaching at Houston Baptist University, Marriage and Family Counseling, in the college of Behavioral Science. I have been working in a school setting for the past 16 years and I have been in a private practice setting since 2006.
I take a cognitive approach to growth. I believe strongly in creating a foundation for change through connecting with others in safe relationships.
I specialize in Christian Counseling for school related issues , families, couples, adolescents and up.
