Personal Statement

Sometimes our lives can feel stagnant and overwhelming. We lose touch with our hopes and dreams - our purpose. We feel lost. We become disconnected from ourselves and those we love. We struggle to get out of our head and engage with the world around us. We may find ourselves drinking more alcohol or zoning out in front of the TV losing time and feeling unproductive. The primary goal of my practice is to help you reengage so as to live a more meaningful, productive and fulfilling life.

I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. I am a licensed clinical psychologist and have been practicing since 2005. I spent a significant part of my career as the Director of Outpatient Services for a community mental health center. There I assisted individuals and families impacted by trauma who struggled with a broad range of concerns and challenges including depression and anxiety, PTSD and substance use issues. I utilize an eclectic person-centered approach to therapy drawing on multiple theoretical orientations and techniques including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Existential psychotherapy. Clinical areas of interest include LGBTQ issues, career and life transitions, personal growth and creativity, depression, anxiety, and trauma.

Though I reside in Philadelphia, PA, I am a member of PSYPACT and therefore able to work with individuals via telepsychology in over 33 states. I am available for an initial free consultation to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I look forward to hearing from you.
