Personal Statement

Making the decision to seek therapy can be both difficult and incredibly rewarding. I honor your willingness and courage to take the first step toward seeking information about therapy, and am happy to help in any way that I can. I provide individual psychotherapy and assessment services for adults struggling with a wide range of difficulties and challenges. In my practice, I am to provide a safe and open space for you to explore and learn more about yourself and your relationships, and work through the things you face in your life, with the ultimate goal of personal growth and healing.

I believe that therapy should be a collaboration with you, the client, and I aspire to provide compassion, understanding, and guidance for you, while at the same time allowing you to take ownership of your work in therapy through active engagement in the therapeutic process. My theoretical perspective is integrative, utilizing an understanding of the person from the perspectives of mindfulness, cognitive therapy, and interpersonal theory.

By bringing compassionate awareness to our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, I believe that we all have the potential to deepen our awareness and understanding of how we connect with others and how we feel about ourselves. In this way, therapy can bring strength, growth, and the development of useful skills to relieve anxiety, depression, relationship stress, and other psychologically related concerns.

Life brings many challenges and while the difficulties you face may not go away completely, therapy can be a safe place to process and work through whatever you are facing with greater insight, awareness, and acceptance.
