Personal Statement

I primarily work with transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) adults. My interest is in assuring that TGNC people have access to a mental health provider that understands the challenges that come with being TGNC. I have 10 years of clinical experience. I am committed to the work I do in assuring that your concerns are heard. Whether you plan a social or medical transition, or no transition at all, I can support you in that journey.

Dr. dickey has a clinical practice in which he works with gender diverse clients. He focuses on helping clients to understand the ways to cope with daily challenges and works to ensure they have support for their transition, be it social, medical, or legal.

I am trained as a counseling psychologist. I work from a integrative approach which is informed by multicultural counseling, feminist beliefs, cognitive behavioral therapy, and humanistic therapy. I am trained in EMDR. My approach to work with clients is to allow you to set the agenda and pace of our work together. You know your life much better than I do. I will work to ensure that we are making progress on the goals we set.
