Personal Statement
Hi and thank you for considering me for your counseling needs. I graduated with my doctorate in behavioral health from Arizona State University and have been practicing as a professional counselor and substance abuse professional in both North and South Carolina for the past 12 years. I am also a licensed substance abuse counselor and a licensed clinical supervisor. I have worked in a variety of settings affording me experience working with diverse populations presenting with a variety of disorders. On a personal note, I'm a big Harry Potter fan.
I see the counseling relationshp as a partnership where we work together to identify and achieve set goals. Everyone has a unique individual perspective and I enjoy helping individuals find their own definitions of happiness and truths in life. You have all of the answers to your problems within yourself and it is my job to help you explore your own solutions and focus on your strengths to reach the goals that you will through ongoing sessions. I will meet you where you are in your quest to find peace, happiness, success, and life goals you desire. My goal is to help you reach your highest potential.
My areas of interest and expertise are with individuals who are experiencing life changes and transitions, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship/family issues, stress, workplace issues, military/veteran issues and more.
I use an eclectic approach to assist you in the ways that are most beneficial to your needs. I use a variety of techniques including Solution-focused therapy, ACT (Acceptance and commitment therapy, CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy) as well as interventions derived from several other approaches. We will work together to find what fits your needs.
