Personal Statement

I am a licensed associate marriage and family therapist, who has provided therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families. I also teach full time at Brigham Young University, Idaho, where I share my knowledge and expertise to others regarding marriage and family therapy.

I specialize in discernment counseling, which helps couples identify their goals of marriage. Mostly, discernment counseling is brief and focuses on whether to continue life together in a marriage or to divorce. While this approach is not marriage counseling, it is a way for couples to decide if resolving their conflicts is desirable.

Dr. Ratcliffe currently practices marriage and family therapy and specializes in working with couples on the brink of divorce. He also teaches in the Marriage and Family Studies program at Brigham Young University- Idaho.

Additionally, he heads a team of Certified Relationship Educators in sharing their knowledge with those who are interested in strengthening their relationships.
