Personal Statement
Life is full of challenges at times, and it can be difficult to make sense of the things. From stress at work, to relationship problems, to the loss of a loved one, sometimes people need help finding a way forward. Therapy can be a great resource for people deal with problems big and small. From those little worries that never seem to go away to those symptoms that make it hard to go to work, I want to help people make their lives more livable, perhaps even more enjoyable.
As a clinician, I generally seek to help people develop practical coping skills that are in line with the values that they want to live. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness based CBT, Existential/Humanistic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Gestalt therapy are the lenses I borrow from to help clients along that path, based on what they need.
Therapy is an exploratory process. I have a number of roadmaps, and my goal is to help folks find the one that works best for them to make sense of the world they are living in. Sometimes I'm a guide, sometimes a companion, and sometimes just a cheering section, depending upon what someone needs to help them on their path
