Personal Statement
Since 1999, the focus of Dr. Bruzzone’s education and career goals has been helping persons of different ages and a variety of ethnicities, genders and sexual orientations--whether individually or as part of a couple, family or group--live happier, healthier and more productive lives.
As an evidence-based practitioner working with children, adolescents or adults, and individuals, couples or families, Dr. Bruzzone believes in the power of knowledge. Therefore, he uses psychoeducation to move clinical work from the more traditional problem-focus to a more contemporary solution-focused approach, within a framework of a caring, respectful and empathic therapeutic environment.
Dr. Bruzzone’s work embraces all facets of the biopsychosocial (physiological, psychological, spiritual and social) model of mental health. Further, Dr. Bruzzone believes that most people have it within themselves to resolve their own problems and need only a little guidance, and to be heard and understood, in order to gather the emotional strength required to get themselves back on track in their lives. To facilitate this process he relies on a patient-centered, respectful approach in counseling to help uncover existential concerns that are examined and treated in a time-effective and cost-effective manner using proven psychodynamic/psychoanalytical, cognitive-behavioral, experiential, existential, narrative or solution-focused approaches to help each person find his or her own way to mental wellness.
Dr. Bruzzone also conducts Law Enforcement/Public Safety employment appeals. Other services include work disability assessments and Worker's Compensation QME/AME assessments.
