Personal Statement
Through the integration of theory, intervention, insight and multi-cultural awareness, I will process with you individually or within your relationship. I specialize in the treatment of traumatic stress and the psychological factors related to past injurious events, while guiding you in managing your emotional life to a healthier inner self. I apply strategic models which use attachment and emotional focus, the discovery of self validation and the externalization through various forms of creative expression. Only then does healing from unattended traumatic injury can begin. Initial consultations identify the presenting problem and finding a resolution. Following sessions focus on a deeper pathway to healing and nurturing the authentic self.
Emotional regulation, balance and self-awareness of internal conflicts between thoughts and feelings, will reduce symptoms of acute distress, traumatic injury and other factors surrounding anxiety/ depression and other mood inbalance. While we can't remove traumatic events, we can work together to better manage the reflections of injurious memories.
When you remember a past event, you're actually remembering the last time you remembered it, not the event itself.
